March has been a perfect month of transition: days started to get longer, spring has arrived and there were key dates on the calendar, such as Women's Day and St. Patrick's Day. At Canvas World, we know that university life is nothing without those moments of disconnection between grades and classes.
Therefore, this month we enjoyed an agenda full of activities at the halls of residence designed to vindicate, compete (in a healthy way, of course), bring out our creative side and welcome the good weather by getting together with friends.
Activities are our halls of residence were varied this month: from women's empowerment for 8 March, to the mythical national competition (omelette with or without onion?), artistic workshops and lots of action. Here’s everything we did in Seville, Pamplona and Sabadell!
Seville: cinema, creativity and lots of green
March was full of creative and thematic plans at Canvas Student Sevilla Lago to enjoy the common areas and the great Andalusian weather:
- 5 March - Female directors on screen: we started the month with purposeful cinema. We screened a film directed by a woman or linked to the feminist movement to reflect together in the days leading up to 8 March.
- 9 March - Decorate your tote bag: we brought out our most artistic side with a workshop on personalising Canvas tote bags. Markers, paint, lots of creativity and unique designs to show off around campus.
- 17 March - St. Patrick's Night: Seville was dyed green. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a themed party, special decorations and classics like darts and beer pong.

Pamplona: jumps, adrenalin and the great culinary debate
Despite being a month full of works and improvements to make our building stunning, we adapted the agenda at Canvas Student Pamplona Plazaola by opting for plans full of energy to disconnect from the routine and, of course, to demonstrate our talent in the kitchen:
- 5 March - Saltoka Jump: pure action! We organised an outing to let off some steam on the Saltoka Jump trampolines. An afternoon of laughter, exercise and impossible jumps to break up the study week.
- 9 March - Potato omelette competition: Pamplona joined the great national debate. Residents demonstrated their culinary talent and we crowned the best omelette at the halls after a well-deserved tasting.

Sabadell: collaborative art and a picnic in the sun
At Canvas Student Sabadell Llac, the Canvas World student community made the most of the spaces at the halls and the natural setting right in front of us:
- 5 March - Women in Art: instead of film, we opted for the visual arts. The residents created a large collaborative mural to highlight and pay tribute to influential women in the history of art.
- 9 March - Potato omelette competition: the official omelette competition also came to Sabadell. We sharpened the knives, prepped the potatoes and there was a high level of competition for the coveted prize.
- 25 March - Spring picnic: with the arrival of the good weather, we took advantage of the courtyard to organise an open-air gathering. We enjoyed a snack, board games, volleyball and a lot of fun in the sun in community.

The activities at student halls of residence are the best excuse to get out of your comfort zone, meet neighbours you might not have met before and create unforgettable memories of your time at university. March has left us with some great moments, and we’re already preparing next month's surprises!
