Ambassadors Programme: become the driving force behind your hall of residence

If you’re proactive, find it easy to connect with others and enjoy coming up with ideas, the Canvas Student Programme is looking for people just like you.

This programme brings our philosophy 'Connect. Grow. Belong' to your day-to-day life and lets you be the leading voice in the community.

Being an ambassador isn’t just about putting forward ideas; it’s an excellent opportunity to develop key skills for your future career.

You’ll learn about team management, budget control, effective communication and conflict resolution. You’ll work closely with centre management and the marketing team to ensure that every resident feels included, particularly during the key intake months of September, October, January and February.

The programme of activities you’ll design for your fellow residents is structured around six specific areas:

• Entrepreneurship (Launch Your Potential): initiatives to foster ideas, nurture talent and support personal projects.
• Learning (Grow Your Mind): workshops, talks and spaces designed to support academic and professional development.
• Social & Events (Live the Moment): themed parties, tournaments, competitions and opportunities to relax together and take a break from class.
• Art and Culture (Create & Inspire): creative activities, exhibitions and spaces for free expression.
• Well-being (Find Your Balance): programmes focusing on physical and mental health, ranging from sport to relaxation techniques.
• Volunteering (Give Back, Grow Together): opportunities to get involved in charitable causes and make a positive impact on the local community.

Taking on this leadership role is a unique opportunity to get fully involved in life at your hall of residence. Being an ambassador allows you to make your mark, energise the community and forge unforgettable bonds with your peers as you work together to create the best experiences and activities for the academic year.
