The exams are over, your notes have been put away (or recycled) and you can finally sleep for more than five hours at a time. But let’s face it, there’s a little knot in your stomach that won’t go away until you see that number on the screen.

Waiting for the results of the University Entrance Exams (EBAU (Baccalaureate Assessment for University Access)/EvAU (Assessment for University Access)/PAU (University Entrance Exam)) can take forever, but knowing how the process works and what steps you need to take immediately afterwards will help you stay calm and get a head start. Here’s a step-by-step guide to surviving the week that will shape your university future.

How and when to see your University Entrance Exams 2026 marks

Each autonomous community manages its own deadlines, but as a general rule, the results of the first session exam period in June are usually published in the middle of the month (between the second and third week). To make sure you’re not caught off guard on the big day, keep these general tips in mind:

  • Have your credentials to hand: during the tests you were given a username and password (or a PIN code). Keep it safe, because you will need it to access the web portal.
  • Watch out for system crashes: at 9.00 am on results day, thousands of students will be trying to log in at the same time. If the site crashes, take a deep breath and try again in a little while. Your mark will not change.
  • Exam review: if you think your mark is lower than you deserve, you have a strict deadline (usually 3 working days) to ask for a review.

Where to check your marks (by autonomous community)

Depending on the autonomous community where you live and where you took your exam, you will need to access one platform or the other. Here are the ways to view your marks in some of the main regions:

  • Madrid: marks are usually released in mid-June and can be viewed directly through the web portals of the six public universities in Madrid.
  • Andalusia: the PAU (University Entrance Exam) marks are published in mid-June and you should view them on the website of the university where you have taken the exam (for example, through the UVUS (virtual user account) for the University of Seville or on the UPO portal).
  • Catalonia: marks are published on the Canal Universitats portal provided by the Regional Government of Catalonia.
  • Valencian Community (Valencia): you can check your results through the portal provided by the Regional Government of Valencia or directly on the websites of the universities.
  • Rest of Spain (Castile and Leon, Navarre, Galicia, Basque Country, etc.): as a general rule, marks can be viewed by entering the credentials you were given on the first day of the exam on the official portals of the public university where you took the exams.

I've got my mark, now what do I do?

Seeing the coveted “Pass” is just the beginning. As soon as you know your final grade, the real bureaucratic race begins:

  • Complete your university pre-enrolment: fill in your application form, ordering the degrees and universities in strict order of preference. Always put your favourite option first, regardless of last year’s cut-off mark.
  • Analyse the cut-off marks: remember that the cut-off marks are only a reference based on the last student who was admitted the previous year. They are not a mathematical law.
  • Wait for the lists of admitted students: the allocation results will start to be published from July. If you are accepted for your first choice, it’s time to enrol!

The countdown to your new life: why you should arrange your accommodation now

Here’s the golden tip that many students (and parents) only realise too late: you should start looking for accommodation before or on the day you find out your results.

Waiting until July or August to look for a place to live means being left with the least attractive options. Taking the plunge and arranging your university residence in advance has undeniable advantages:

  • Secure your place before they all go: the best rooms are always the first to fly. Arranging your accommodation now will guarantee that you get the right space for you.
  • Get better rates: arranging your accommodation early will allow you to take advantage of the best prices before the big boom in demand in July.
  • Avoid last-minute stress: save yourself the anguish of searching for accommodation against the clock in the middle of summer when you should be relaxing on the beach.
  • Family visits with peace of mind: if you plan ahead, you can organise a trip with your parents to take a tour of your chosen hall of residence, see the facilities in person, meaning that all of you will feel much more relaxed.

If your goal is to study in Seville, Pamplona, Salamanca, Sabadell or Valencia, at Canvas Student we have the perfect space ready and waiting for you. We know that you and your family’s peace of mind depends on securing a place as soon as possible. Choosing our halls of residence means:

  • Zero surprises at the end of the month: no more fighting over electricity, water or Wi-Fi bills. Everything is included so you can focus on your studies.
  • High-performance environment: you benefit from quiet study rooms, but also a gym, cinema and spacious common areas to unwind.
  • Networking from day one: you’ll meet students from other degree programmes and from all over the world right from the get-go, building an amazing network of contacts and friends.

Your time at university doesn’t start in the classroom, it starts the moment you decide where you are going to live. Browse our halls of residence on the Canvas Student website and reserve your room before they all go!
